We want to live in a world where everyone has an opportunity to live their best lives.
Differences are not feared, marginalized, or ranked. Everyone feels welcomed and equitably considered in public-facing design, services, communications, and investments. In this world, we have greatly diminished identity biases that create systemic prejudices in our financing and compensation structures, algorithmic codes, politics, popular narratives, and regulatory frameworks.
This is why our mission is transformation toward just, equitable, and thriving societies.

Our Theory of Transformation
For YC, the distinction between change and transformation is that transformation is a permanent alteration. It is the metamorphosis, conversion, or transmutation from one distinct form, structure, or system into another. Change is constant and dynamic. There are shifts and new status quos. But those shifts can be temporary. Once something transforms, however, it becomes something new, like a caterpillar to a butterfly. No matter what happens, that butterfly will never return to that larval state.
To bend toward just and equitable transformation, YC believes one needs a combination of vision, inspiration, understanding, a burning desire inflamed by values, will, communication tools, and structure guided by purpose and intention. We organize this combination in a head, heart, and being framework. Sometimes one moves from the head. Other times one moves from the heart. Both are required to get to the “being”—the changed form.
Head. Heart. Being. Framework
Transformation is a lifelong journey that deepens over time with sustained actions. Sometimes there is bliss, with insatiable gratification. And sometimes, you feel like it is the struggle of your life. But at the end of the day, you know you want to be on the other side.
For transformation, YC references its Head. Heart. Being. Framework.
- Head: addresses what we think, how we think, and what we perceive as truth.
- Heart: speaks to what we feel, where we hold empathy, and what drives desire.
- Being: references who we are and how we show up in the world.
